6 Reasons Why Ivanka Stole the Show at the Republican National Convention

Even though the Republican nominee for the 2016 presidential race – Donald Trump – spoke on Thursday evening, it was his daughter Ivanka who stole the show.

Trump accepted the GOP presidential nomination Thursday, promising to lead a national populist revolution, pledging:

“I AM YOUR VOICE.”

His daughter was far more restrained and humble.

She began by talking about her father circling names in newspapers, finding people who needed help, and being that help. Finding them jobs. Making sure they had opportunity. Bringing them that opportunity.

Ivanka talked about her father as a champion for women, vowing to help combat wage inequality by gender:

She said:

“Politicians talk about wage equality, but my father has made it a practice at his company throughout his entire career,” she said. “He will fight for equal pay for equal work, and I will fight for this right alongside of him.”

Ivanka later added:

“At my father’s company, there are more female than male executives. Women are paid equally for the work we do, and when a woman becomes a mother, she is supported, not shut out.”

Ms. Trump reminisced about time spent in her father’s office, building with Legos while he built city skylines. Ivanka, a 34-year-old mother of three, is an executive at Trump Industries. She has a book coming out in March of 2017, which she teased in a humorous video earlier this year.

She got cheers for her comments on how her family approaches equality. As she put it, it’s a meritocracy, and people who are talented and work hard will get ahead.

She pointed out the difference between politicians and her father:

Donald Trump’s speech Thursday vows to be different than Hillary Clinton. He said:

“My opponent asks her supporters to recite a three-word loyalty pledge. It reads: “I’m With Her”. I choose to recite a different pledge.

My pledge reads: “I’M WITH YOU – THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.”

I am your voice.”

(She couldn’t help but point out that her Dad won):

And Ivanka asked that her father be judged not by his promises, but by his results.

She left a few people asking one simple question:
