Where Caitlyn Jenner Is Heading This Week Is Sure to P*ss Off Left-Wing Critics Even More

Caitlyn Jenner has been a vocal supporter of LGBT issues, especially since going public with her own struggles as a transgender woman. Because of her social views, however, a number of liberals were surprised to learn that the former Olympian was .a Republican.

When news broke that Caitlyn Jenner was traveling this week, the destination that most probably would have thought made sense was Eugene, Oregon, for the track and field Olympic trials. But instead, Jenner is headed to Cleveland – the location of the Republican National Convention.

And since she confirmed her plans, Jenner has been attacked on social media:

But although Jenner plans to meet with Republicans, she has no plans to attend the actual convention. Instead, she will attend a brunch hosted by the American Unity Fund to call for more bipartisan support for LGBT issues. Jenner explains:

“The party conventions are like the political Olympics, and I’m excited to be headed to Cleveland to stand with my fellow LGBT Republicans and allies.

As a proud Republican and transgender woman, I want to support courageous Republicans who advocate for LGBT freedom. Our country’s nondiscrimination laws must be updated and this cannot be achieved without bipartisan support.

Congress needs to act, along with almost thirty Republican states, to update our nondiscrimination laws. I want to do my part to persuade more Republicans to support freedom for millions of LGBT Americans.”

Jenner announced in late June that she was endorsing Republican Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential race.
